Something a little different in the workshop. A beautiful late 90's CD1x.

This scull had the usual signs of wear from being rowed on the tideway for over 20's years. The hull had some stretches running along the hull and then a few chips through to the wood.

For the chips the local area gets sanded back all the way to the wood, it's then dried out to make sure no water can react with the new coating. The raw wood is then sealed with layers of epoxy resin. This is then sanded back along with the original clear coat to remove the remaining scratches.

Two layers of UV stable clear coat are applied. This gets blocked down and then polished up. Ready for another 20 years use!
