Janousek 1x Refurbishment

This month we completed a full refurbishment of an early 2000's Janousek 1x

It had be previously owned by a club and was in need of some much needed love.

We start by weighing in all our boats. (14.60kg). Then all the paint gets stripped off, back to carbon and fibreglass hull. Any damaged areas are repaired and any previous repairs are checked over.

The main issue with this boat comes from the salt water dock it was used on. Lots of the metal fittings had started to corrode which in places damaged the hull.

The boat then gets a couple of layers of primer and is blocked back down ready for the paint to go on. In this case the costumer wanted brilliant white, with some grey and green chevrons.

Once all the customer specified fittings had been put in the boat is weighed again (14.75kg). The increase in the weight on this scull is because of a new seat which weighed over 0.25kg more than the original damaged one.
